Mission Statement
The focus of the Evolve Community Wellness Foundation Inc. is to build community resilience, relieve poverty, improve both physical and mental health, create positive change within personal and professional environments, improve self-worth, self-esteem and self-confidence and to educate the community on the value of self-nurturance and wellbeing.

Petrea King is Founding Director and CEO of the Quest for Life Foundation, which she established in 1989. She is a well-known author, inspirational keynote speaker, teacher and facilitator. She is also qualified as a naturopath, herbalist, clinical hypnotherapist, yoga and meditation teacher.

Counselling:
The Evolve Community Wellness Foundation Inc. offers counselling to individuals who are suffering ongoing trauma, crisis or destitution, particularly when coupled with the likes of habituation, illness, misfortune, helplessness and/or perceived hopelessness, loss of personal power, depression, suicidal and psychologically and/or emotionally weighed down by their burdens, such that they are unable, without appropriate support, to move forward. Despair sets in and all sense of hope may disappear.
Reiki Healing:
Reiki is a natural form of healing therapy that was rediscovered in Japan towards the end of the nineteenth century by Dr. Mikao Usui, a Christian seminarian. The knowledge and practice of this therapeutic intervention was gradually introduced into the West (via Hawaii) over 50 years ago. The system of reiki works in conjunction with all other medical or therapeutic techniques to support the relief of side effects, reduce pain and promote wellness such as wound healing, pain relief, stress reduction, boosting immunity, insomnia, post-operative care, habituation, anxiety and the effects of trauma.
Therapeutic Massage:
Massage compliments counselling and/or self-empowerment workshops, since the physical, emotional and/or psychological distresses suffered by persons in dire straits, cause severe tension in the body, typically by way of headaches, neck and back problems, that if not properly treated, can lead to further physical breakdown and illness. Massage therapy eases the physical symptoms caused by stress and trauma, releases endorphins to induce feelings of well-being and consequently provides positive psychological and emotional improvements.
The proprietors of Evolve (both of whom have extensive backgrounds in community welfare organisations) observing that services were not within the financial reach of the truly needy, saw a real and immediate need to provide disadvantaged persons with access to those healing services that are normally only financially available to persons who can afford to pay commercial rates. This was the underlying concept for the creation of Evolve Community Wellness Foundation Inc.
